Spark plugs contain valuable metal
Spark plugs contain metals such as steel, nickel and copper, as well as precious metals such as platinum and iridium. Recycling them not only conserves resources, but also makes an important contribution to environmental protection. This is because the extraction of metals through mining is associated with considerable environmental damage - from land destruction and water pollution to high CO₂ emissions.
Spark plug recycling is highly innovative - and economically attractive
Despite the advantages, the recycling rate for spark plugs is still low. We want to change this - with a recycling method that creates transparency and makes the recycling of spark plugs economically attractive. With our new chemical processing plant, we are relying on an innovative, particularly environmentally friendly process that efficiently recovers precious metals from used spark plugs - cleanly and safely, in a way that conserves resources and is economical.
